Hi, I have a few basic questions about the companies that issue ETF like Vanguard, BetaShares etc: How do ETF providers make money? If I buy ETFs through Pearler, does any of the brokerage fee go to the ETF provider, or do they earn in other ways? Are ETFs fully backed by the assets they represent? Does the ETF provider hold 100% of the underlying assets, or just a percentage? What happens to my ETFs if the provider goes bankrupt or into receivership? Thanks!

Is it a good idea to I invest and also save money in my offset account / repay additional amount in my mortgage. Wife and I own 1 property and we still have 600k - 27 years left - 6% variable interest. While 12% of salary does go into super and we invest around 2k month, am curious if we should more into investment and make use of the compound interest in long term or redirect the money to close our mortgage faster?

I can’t decide between vanguard high growth (Vdhg) or Ishares s&p 500(Ivv)? The Ishares seems to have a much higher estimated return…. But I notice a lot of people recommend vanguard due to its diversity…. I’m in this for the long term eg 10 years and will be regularly contributing Thanks for your help!

Hi there, I’ve been thinking about Debt Recycling and have a few questions. I’m weighing four options: 1. Invest 100% in ETFs. 2. Invest 100% in my mortgage offset. 3. Split 50/50 between ETFs and offset. 4, Start debt recycling and invest recycled funds in ETFs. Given that I plan to upsize in 3-5 years, is debt recycling worth it? Can recycled debt be transferred to a new mortgage? Also, is dollar cost averaging practical for debt recycling? Appreciate any thoughts or advice.

Hi there, I'm a 30yo female looking to start investing for the long term. I think I'd like a pretty hands off approach so looking at an automated diversified etf. However, the environment and climate change is important to me and I'm in two minds regards to investing in fossil fuels. Is DZZF a good option for this? It seems that it's not that popular which concerns me? Is splitting between VDGH and DZZF a viable option or is that double dipping in a lot of the same? Thanks for your time and thoughts. Helen

Im looking at the following options but feeling lost which is the best one (new investor, doing lots of research at present!) VDHG and VAS VDHG + IVV VDHG- solo IVV and VAS DHHF and IVV DHHF- solo Im 38 years old, will only be contributing relatively small amounts on a regular basis and happy for long term growth of 10 years. *im leaning towards DHHF as it seems to the the recommended one but would love to combine it with something....i love what IVV has as it seems to be the big US companies and also its very high estimated return, but i want to diversify with some Aus shares/etf too which is why im looking at a combo... newbie here! People say VDHG is complicated for tax returns, but I don’t get it. I’m new to this and thought you just send the Pearler files and Vanguard’s annual tax statement to your accountant. Is it only complicated for those doing their own tax returns?

Hi there, I’ve recently bought my starter home but am trying to balance living in the present with my long-term goals: 1. Eventually reaching FIRE while keeping my mortgage manageable 2. Upgrading my PPoR down the track I have an offset account, but my mortgage allows me to pay down only $10k extra per year. For those already on the FIRE path with a mortgage, what’s the best strategy? Should I focus on paying down my current mortgage before refinancing to lower it, or would using my offset account as a deposit work just as well? I’m not interested in investment properties or taking on a second mortgage. Thanks in advance!
