When buying ETFs, do I need to buy the entire unit? For example, IVV is selling $625 per share. When I set up autoinvest do I need to have the funds to buy an entire unit, or will my autoinvest simply buy a percentage of a unit each time?

What are everyone’s thoughts on ASICs recent ruling around online financial discussions (https://asic.gov.au/regulatory-resources/financial-services/giving-financial-product-advice/discussing-financial-products-and-services-online/)? Could it extend to this type of forum or handing out our Pearler referral code? Having gotten into investing later in life than I’d (in hindsight) would prefer to have, the wealth of information out there now has been a massive help. I don’t feel like it existed years ago outside big financial/investment institutions or published works such as “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. While I’m sure some of the discussions on the internet today are influenced by referrals or other biased ideas, at least the conversations are (were) being freely had.

I'm trying to work my way through finding companies in Australia to invest in who have small revenue ($10-20 million) with the objective of investing long term. There are so many small businesses that have the potential to grow and thrive, but given that there are over 2000 shares to search through, it's hard to sift through every company to find what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Hi There When I first started investing I bought shares in VDHG and ETHI just to get some skin in the game. After I bought the first few units I decided to go down a different route and now my portfolio is made up of a A200/VGS/VGE split to try diversify my portfolio. (Still holding the initial VDHG and ETHI units) Is there any benefit to my split compared to VDHG as a whole? I don't think it's necessary to sell anything off at this point and rebalance (Happy to be wrong). I just want to set & forget at this stage while I work my way through things and have a core portfolio that does the majority of the work Thank-you

Hi there, I’m a new investor and I would love to "gift" my parents (who are not very well off financially) shares and help them build their own portfolio. I was wondering if anyone had advise on what might be the best way to go about this. Can i open and account for them that is held in my name (similarly to a 'minor' account)? Or perhaps getting them to set up their own account would be the way to go? I’m also unsure of how gifting shares could affect their tax. Any advise would be really appreciated :)

Hey Pearler, I have updated my share registries with my own BSB and Acc numbers, however, I believe we have our own Pearler BSB and Acc Numbers. To ensure I don't absorb any distributions into my spendings without noticing, I'd like to update Computershare etc with my Pearler BSB and Account. Where can we find these details? The aim is to keep any dividends segregated in my Pearler Cash account until tax time, pay tax bill and then reinvest the leftover amounts.

Hi All, In my early 60’s and only started investing a few years ago as my partner and I have spare $’s and try to utilise all the tools like salary sacrifice an$ the bring forward rules along with spouse co-contribution. I signed up to the Barefoot blueprint, which has since closed. I purchased both Breakfree (IOO, STW, VAF, VAP & VSO) and Idiot Grandson (VAS, VTS & VEU) portfolios. Plus both AFI & ARGO. I have all of these in an auto invest setup, all with different percentages. The question is, am I diluting the benefits gained from dollar cost averaging by investing in so many ETF’s and LIC’s? TIA.

Hi all, I'm currently invested in VAS and IVV and am looking for something to give me non Aus and non US coverage. VEU looks good but I want to avoid anything domiciled outside Australia, and as I understand it VEU is domiciled in the US. Does anyone have a suggestion for an ETF that can round out my portfolio with some world exposure? I know I could have done VGS instead of IVV but I was hoping to keep the US and non US separate. I have 141 shares in VGS. I bought 55 in a single transaction at $96.76. Does Pearler allow me to sell only those 55 shares? If I go select "Sell VGS" and request to sell 55 shares, which ones are being sold? It isn't clear how Pearler selects the shares to be sold. Are they first in first out?

My current core allocation is: CORE: IVV=50%, VEU=20%, I plan to move to Southeast Asia in 5-7 year. Considering this, I'm reevaluating my core portfolio, especially my investment in VAS, seeking alternatives to complement IVV and VEU. What would be suitable for my core portfolio considering my relocation plans? I believe I shouldn't be allocating more than 5% to VAS because I won't be an Australian resident in the future.
