I've currently invested in micro $75. It's always under that 🙄 so I've lost a small amount but it would be better sitting in a bank than investing in micro. I'm scared to go over $100. As the fees will kick in and then seriously go backwards. How is micro a good choice? I don't get it I've had $75. Invested for 3 months now and it's sitting at $74. In the red . So I'm not going over the $100. As the fees will never be taken care of with positive cash I will be worse off. So correct me please how do you possibly make money on micro ?

Hi Everyone, I've been investing with micro every so oftern with $50 deposit or more and I realise I could actually track the cost averaging better: like $10 dollar every single day of the year when the market is open. I understand you might be able to do so with a recuring transfer from bank account, but it's actually a bit annoying & painful, as you have to make sure everything fine from bank side & I had couple of time payments not going through (dunno why) so not as practicable. Also with the delay of 1 or 2 days for the money to come through + the 1 or 2 days of micro to happen... I was wondering, is there a way to load up the pearler cash account & get micro to invest every single open market day the a $XX amount ? That would be just much easier. I could not find the options Thanks

Hello Fellow Pearlers, Under Transactions -> Reports -> "US broker statements and documents" section, the W8-BEN Tax Form 1 has been automatically created by the US brokerage partner, DriveWealth. What do I need to do with this form? Does it need to be sent to the US IRS to reduce the withholding tax or the ATO? Thanks for your support here.

Hello - I am early in my investing journey switched from Raiz about a year ago and went with two ETFs and two companies I was willing to 'gamble' on. Anyway, with my ETFs one is VDHG - now whenever I look at other ETFs that I might want to invest in I am like 'what's the point' because they are generally covered in the VDHG make up. My question is - is it pointless - should I just keep directing my $$ into my current ETFs or for example would it not 'hurt' to include something like ETHI or any other similar more specific ETF?

Hi, I’m fairly new to investing and this is a dumb question but what is the difference when investing in the AU shares vs US shares tab? Is it that the AU shares are funds held by brokers in Aus and the US one is US brokers? Is there a better option for an Aus investor? What are the tax implications of investing in US EFTs over Aus ones? Thanks, Molly

Thoughts on why DZZF isn't more popular given its combo of FAIR and ETHI at a much lower management fee? I have been investing in this instead of buying shares in the separate etfs but am a little concerned by the low growth in funds under management. The 10% inclusion of green bonds may not suit people wanting a purely growth etf but for I figure it isn't a bad way to include some defensive assets to help balance my portfolio. Please don't judge me by my pearler portfolio I invest across a couple of brokerage platforms.

Hi fellow pearlers Me(27) and my wife(29) have a joint investment account where we set aside 5k a month and invest fortnightly into the following etfs A200 50% IVV. 35% NDQ. 5% VEU. 10% We've tested the waters with VAS , VGS, VGE and SPY before finalizing on the above portfolio. Question to the extended community here. Is it worthwhile expanding to the following satellite etfs IJP VAP IJR ETHI IXJ WDMF Also just trying to understand the value of having divident focused etfs(such as WDMF. I have DRP for all my current etfs and aim to sustain the current portfolio(36k) till we retire. Hopefully increasing income and investments going ahead. Im also the nominee to my parents mutual funds as well as am inheriting some assets overseas, not sure how that works with this plan as well. Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance!!

When I first delved into investing in shares, I, like many newbies, became allured by thematic etfs and penny stocks. This was prior to becoming fully aware of the fees associated with ETF's or the extreme volatility of penny stocks. I have since thankfully invested in low-fee index funds, however am now left with the decision of selling off and moving my other stocks to consolidate. I realise there is no right or wrong answer without being able to predict the future, but I was wondering if you could talk through the pro's and con's of consolidating my investments. For context, I am looking to invest over a long timespan, however am not sure whether selling my ETF's/paying CGT goes against the adage of 'never sell/never interrupt compounding'.
