Hello! I was wondering if it's worth adding niche ETFs, like those focused on electric vehicles, hydrogen, or green energy, to a diversified portfolio with funds like VDHG or DHHF? I’m curious if these could add value, especially with issues like global warming, but I’m concerned it might lead to more speculation than long-term investing and disrupt the balance of a diversified portfolio. What are your thoughts?

I'm in my early 20s and my current portfolio is 100% VDHG. I understand the differences between VDHG and DHHF and think DHHF aligns better with my future goals, so I plan to start buying into DHHF without selling my existing VDHG holdings. I've also been looking into QUAL for its potential long-term growth and would like it as a smaller addition alongside VDHG and DHHF. Any advice on combining these three? Thoughts on potential overlap, alternatives, and allocation suggestions? Thanks!

Hi there, I am trying to build a portfolio for emerging markets.So far I narrowed my options to two cases: 1) 100% EMKT with 0.69% fee!!!; 2) 50% VGE with 0.48% fee and 50% Asia with 0.67% fee Asia has done pretty well in the past but does not have the rest of the world, that is why I reckon I need to combin eit with VGE. Beside EMKT has a pretty low market cap compare to the other two? Do you have any opinion?

Are there signs to look for if trying to determine if a company has plateaued in terms of growth? Im thinking along the lines of tech companies like Tesla, Meta etc. Surely growth is finite or at least slows down at some point? Can markets sustain continued explosive growth like that?

I am new to investing and have been DCA investing $300 monthly for about 18 months into 3 ETFs on the micro platform. I’m looking to continue to increase this amount as able (at this stage increasing $100/month each year as my salary increases). My question is when does this no longer make sense? When should you direct the money towards ETF shares instead of micro ETF shares? Or is it fine just to continue with Pearler micro even if say you were DCA $1000/month? Also, do people stop investing into micro, sell and take the capital gains hit and redirect the leftover into the “real” ETF shares or keep the micro shares and just have them and the new ETF shares portfolio?

Hi, I’m hoping for some perspective. I’ve recently decided to step away from my long term employment and accept a voluntary redundancy. I’m 45 y.o my wife 46 and we have 2 kids aged 12 & 8. My plan was to take 6 months off, but off late I was wondering whether our current situation would support an earlier retirement. Our priority is to set ourselves up to support our kids while living comfortably on appx $80-90K of expenses per year. Our current financial position appears good, but I’m not sure how it would last and best way to manage. We own our home, have an investment property (mortgage’s principal & interest), Share portfolio $525K, Super $500K (combined), Savings $600K. Would be great to get some perspective on whether I can safely retire and take an approach of working adhoc where required. Appreciate the insight. Thanks.

Hi all, My husband and I are wanting to save 100K for a home deposit. We are not sure if the best way to go about this would be by investing what we can each fortnight (approximately $700, more if we undertake OT and side hustles) into a mutual fund here on Pearler or if we save in a high yield savings account. I think I largely understand the concept but : Was does it practically look like When you split the loan , do you get adirect debit on the new loan (the debt recycled portion) that has to be paid monthly / or how do you repay that loan only at the end (if selling the house or finishing doing that ) You can add increase the volume of that debt loan amount ? What do you actually have to pay it all off ? ( maybe I don’t really understand it ) Plus presumably you could just do it for a proportion of the loan if you felt after that that you weren’t keen to keep doing ?

Hey fellow Pearlers, This is my first question and am new to this so apologies in advance :) If a core ETF portfolio included NDQ and JNDQ (Covers Nasdaq 200), STW (Aus 200) and FANG to double down on Tech, what avenues could be explored to round out the exposure so that it is not as heavily reliant on the US / AU whilst not being a risk off asset such as bonds / cash. VEU was one avenue explored but thought I’d turn to the Pearler Exchange and see what could be researched further as there is a wealth of knowledge worth tapping into out there… Thanks all, keen to do some digging
