Recomendations / Suggestions on ETFs

Hi everyone Fairly new to ETF world, and yeah it's so overwhelming with SOO MANNY ETFs arghhhh - its like a bag of Skittles... everything looks tempting to buy. Im 38 and looking for passive income streams with long-term investment, i have a full-time job, have some money saved in a HISA. Looking for ways to improve my current setup/ streamline it for simplicity and growth, at the moment i have some money invested in DHHF and DCA'ing 700$ every 3 months I also have a RAIZ Plus with some money invested there and my current allocations are (DCA"ing 100$ a month) 5% in Bitcoin 95% is broken into several ETf's areas HACK 4% RBTZ 4% FANG 4% SEMI 4% NDQ 23% VAS 24% IVV 32% Im just a bit stuck/confused on what to do going forward, part of me is saying move it all into DHHF and leave it ,or switch to a few satellite ETFs that complement DHHF. Thanks :)

Hi RM.

Haha, I can sympathise with your situation. In fact, basically everyone goes through this experience where everything looks tempting to buy at the start and we’re overwhelmed with options.

But then, over time, we realise that all these shiny, fancy, enticing options… don’t tend to be all that good. Almost everyone ends up going for a simple portfolio in the end. Whether it’s just a single fund like you’ve mentioned with DHFF, or just a couple.

Common single options are DHHF and VDHG as you likely know. Common pairings are IVV and VAS, or VGS and VAS/A200/STW. Some ppl choose to buy the odd thing or two on the side, while others don’t.

Whatever you do, I would encourage you to lean towards simplicity, while keeping the ‘active’ bets to a minimum. This tends to be the highest probability way of ensuring good long term returns while also giving the added bonus of minimal fuss!

All the best,
Dave
