Covanta Holding Corporation is a holding company, which is engaged in the business of waste and energy services. It owns and operates infrastructure for the conversion of waste to energy (WtE), and also owns and operates related waste transport, processing and disposal assets. It operates waste management infrastructure, including approximately 13 waste transfer stations, 20 material processing facilities, four landfills, one metals processing facility, and one ash processing facility, all of which are complementary to its WtE business. It also has ownership positions in several projects in development and/or under construction in the United Kingdom. In addition, it offers a range of waste management solutions, including industrial, consumer products and healthcare waste handling, on-site cleaning services and many others. It operates and/or have ownership positions in approximately 41 WtE facilities in commercial operation and approximately, 39 of which are located in North America.
