Percheron Therapeutics Ltd. engages in the research and development of novel antisense pharmacceuticals. The company is headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria. The company went IPO on 2001-12-20. The firm is engaged in developing and commercializing antisense pharmaceuticals for large unmet markets in rare diseases. The Companyβs products include ATL1102 for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), ATL1103 for Acromegaly, and ATL1102 for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). ATL1102, is an antisense inhibitor targeting very late antigen 4 (VLA-4), an immune cell molecule. ATL1103 is a second-generation antisense drug designed to block growth hormone receptor (GHr) expression thereby reducing levels of the hormone insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) in the blood and is a potential treatment for diseases associated with excessive growth hormone action. By inhibiting GHr production, ATL1103 in turn reduces IGF-I levels in the blood (serum). The firm is conducting a Phase II clinical trial of ATL1102 in DMD patients.
