Location: Sydney, in our studio (with some flex)

Reports To: CEO / Works alongside CMO

Team: Designer, Writer, Producer, Video Editor

The opportunity: Offering young Aussies a way out πŸš€

Pearler is the Australian finance app for the next generation. We’ve built an obsessed community of 92k+ active users by offering a trusted, education-focused alternative to the old school, traditional incumbent financial services.

We’ve done all this on the strength of our product, and honesty in our approach.

We have just launched our first home and super products. Our next phase is simple: make Pearler a household name by going big, taking risks and having even more fun. πŸŽ‰

We are looking for a Creative Director to build our in-house creative engine from scratch. You will take our strategic advantage - our challenger voice, trusted educational content and existing podcasts and partnerships - and transform it into a high-velocity performance marketing machine that drives our goal of 200k new customers by 2027.

The mission 🎯

You are the creative side of the marketing coin. Your goal is to create compelling content that educates, inspires and brings users into our community. You work with the CEO alongside CMO to ensure we can spend capital aggressively on paid advertising channels (TikTok, Reels, YouTube) without losing the authenticity that makes us Pearler. You will help build and lead the Creative squad, creating your ideal job.

What you will build & lead 🌟

● Build the In-House Agency: You will build, lead and mentor a team including a Producer, Designer, Writer, and Video Editor. You are moving us away from reliance on freelancers to a cohesive internal unit. You aren't just making β€˜brand ads’. You are building a system to concept, produce, test, and iterate high-volume video and static assets for paid social ads. Your team will work hand-in-glove with the Performance team to analyse what is working and what is next.

● Set up our studio: We will open a physical studio in Sydney to increase the velocity of how much content we ship. You will be defacto leader of this space, driving shoots and concepting with the team.

● Guide the Brand: The Pearler brand will go through iterations through this next period of growth – it is up to you to guide the visual and tonal direction of the brand at a high level, with the founders.

● Make Pearler Famous: Beyond Performance ads, stunts and content partnerships are a fertile test bed for the best creative work of your life.

● Content Remixing: You will take our massive library of organic content (podcasts like Get Rich Slow Club , influencer collabs) and help your team remix/edit them into high-performing ad creative.

● Compliance as Creativity: You will collaborate closely with the Head of Digital Advice to ensure all creative is compliant before it ships. You see regulation not as a blocker, but as a creative constraint to solve for.

Who you are ⚑️

● A "Full Stack" Creative: You have a background in design or copy, but you think in video. You understand the native language of the internet – particularly short form video TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

● Data-Curious: You don't shy away from numbers. You want to know why an ad worked, and you use that data to brief your team on the next iteration.

● A Player-Coach: You are ready to hire and mentor a team, but you are also willing to jump in to ship creative when the situation calls for it.

Why join Pearler now? πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ

● Impact: We are cashflow positive in FY2026 with a clear path to growth

● Equity: Get ownership in the company with sweat equity (stock options)

● Purpose: We are solving the wealth gap for our generation, plus helping people buy their first homes faster (HomeSoon) and invest for their kids (Headstart).

● Autonomy: You are the first "Creative Director." You get to define the visual identity of our growth era.

● Mentorship: Work closely the founders Nick and Hayden, and be guided by our advisor Charlie who was Creative Director at Koala and co-founded Eucalyptus.

Nick Nicolaides is the co-founder and CEO at Pearler. Having spent his career in portfolio management, advisory, investment analysis, and (plot twist) fashion, Nick co-launched Pearler with a simple aim: to help Aussies avoid working until they die. To this end, Nick believes in the power of boring, long-term investing. It's this philosophy which explains why Pearler's features are geared towards ETFs (exchange-traded funds), home ownership, and getting rich slow. Nick lives on the south coast of New South Wales with his spouse and three children. When he isn't spending time with his family or nerding out over long-term investing, he'll most likely be on the back of a freshly waxed surfboard.
