The role - Art Director

Most financial services brands look the same. Sound the same. Feel the same. Pearler doesn’t, and our next chapter is about making our message impossible to ignore.

We’re hiring an Art Director who wants to build a brand, a creative culture, and a body of work that earns attention in the feed and gets talked about in group chats, at the pub, and across the internet.

You’ll work closely with Pearler’s Creative Director and a tight in-house team to develop ideas that make people feel something, notice something, share something, or rethink something. Everything from digital and social ideas to big brand acts, stunts, stories and OOH campaigns that give Pearler real cultural cut-through.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves ideas, but also loves making. Someone who can concept, design, experiment and ship. Someone who believes that craft is what separates good brands from great brands. Someone who is excited by the chance to help shape how Pearler looks, feels and shows up in the world.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Concepting and art directing across the full mix - social, OOH, video, digital, shoots, stunts, whatever the idea demands
  • Shaping how Pearler looks, feels and shows up in culture - helping us build a brand Australians actually care about
  • Leading shoots: briefing, directing, producing photography and video content from lo-fi to high-end
  • Developing social-native content for TikTok, Meta and YouTube that earns attention rather than buying it
  • Coming up with brand acts and cultural moments that get Pearler talked about far beyond the ad break
  • Using AI tools not as a crutch but as a genuine creative accelerator - to generate, test, iterate and scale ideas faster
  • Helping set and raise the quality bar across everything that leaves the studio
  • Work closely with Pearler’s Creative Director (ex-global top 10 ranked advertising creative, ex-National Head of AWARD School)
  • Contributing to a creative culture where doing beats discussing, experiments are encouraged, and good work is celebrated

Who you are

  • You are a gun Art Director with 5+ years experience with strong taste, strong instincts and zero fear of making.
  • Highly skilled across the Adobe suite.
  • You understand social - not just how platforms work, but how culture moves through them. You know that it often takes a bit of strangeness to cut through the sameness. You're wired to find those angles.
  • You're fed up with the financial system that's left a generation of Australians struggling - renting forever, working forever, never quite getting ahead. You want Pearler to fix that, and you want to use creativity to help make it happen.
  • You want to win awards. Not as an end in itself, but because you believe in making work that's genuinely excellent - and you know those things are usually the same thing.
  • Real capability with AI tools, and genuine enthusiasm about where they're heading
  • Bonus: any design background, After Effects chops, editing experience
  • You're low ego, high energy, and someone people actually want in the room.
