Do I start over?
Investing Strategy
Hi, I’m looking for advice on what the best investing strategy is. I started investing last year but feel like I have no idea what I’m doing to be honest. I listened to a lot of people saying to invest in VOO which I did then added NVDA, BITB, and for some silly reason also put in a small amount into GME. I have also invested into PLS. I feel like I’m all over the shop. I would love a clear path and stick to the best investments for long term growth. Do I start over again? Your advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Ivana.
Sounds like you’ve done what a lot of us do – get a bit too enthusiastic and excited about all sorts of different shares :)
Nothing to stress about. Just have a think about the big picture going forward and where you’d like to be in the future in terms of how you’d like your portfolio to look. For most of us, we end up focusing on a few core holdings that cover entire markets, like you started with the US market.
Big building blocks like index funds basically build an entire portfolio with very little hassle or effort, so I tend to think it’s best to stick with them. You might look at adding one for Aussie shares, or emerging markets, for example. But keep it simple, focus on building up your investment in diversified low fee funds and that goes a long way to being on the right track.
All the best!
