Dividends into account

First Time Investor

Hey investors ! New starter here. I wanted to ask about the Dividends. I know these can be reinvested. But how do you set up these to also just go back into your account to then choose to reinvest. Is this automatic. Pretty much seeing tha positive line come into your bank account, to then choose to put it back in. Or will you just see the variance in the ETF. I currently have Shares, and they just sit there with no funds going into the account. Is this the same thing? How do you eventually turn this into coming into the account when you get enough time and money going into it.

Hi Abigail :)

If you have not applied to be part of an automatic reinvestment plan (DRP), then any dividends will either go to your Pearler account, or a nominated bank account that you have setup with the share registry.

I’m not sure when you invested in these shares, but typically within 2 weeks of investing you’ll receive paperwork from the share registry who handles the dividend payments on behalf of the fund or company you invested in, asking where you’d like those dividends to go.

I also think Pearler has rolled out a new option where you can elect to have dividends paid into your Pearler account. But I’m not sure if you have selected this option, or if it’s actually functioning yet.

If you can tell us which share you’re invested in, then we can help figure out when you’ll be getting a dividend and where it’ll be going? Many funds pay distributions every 3 months, and many individual companies pay every 6 months.

Hopefully I’ve understood what you’re asking.
Dave
