What should I do if I already have a CHESS number? (HIN)

You can have as many Holder Identification Number (HIN) numbers as you like, so just open an account as normal.
It doesn't cost you any extra to get a new HIN, and if you'd like, you can easily consolidate all your existing shares onto Pearler with a HIN transfer.
HIN transfers are completely free, though they do require your existing HIN to be owned by the same entity as your Pearler HIN (for example, you can't transfer an individual account HIN with one broker to a joint account HIN with us).
If you would like to bring your current HIN (with another broker) over to your Pearler account, please select the "I want to keep my current HIN" option during the AU direct investing onboarding process. Please ensure you set up the account with the exact same name and address as what is registered at the other broker.
