Can I invest with Pearler if I'm not an Australian resident?

You currently cannot open a new account with Pearler if you are not a resident or tax resident of Australia.

In order to set up an investment account successfully, you will need to provide an Australian mobile number, bank account and government-issued document in the form of a driver's license or passport. This is to prove that you have a sufficient footprint in Australia.

If you already have an account, investing on the platform will depend on your individual situation as there are some tax implications that need to be considered if you become a non-resident of Australia for tax purposes. Technically, we don't prevent you from investing from overseas.

It is best to talk to a tax accountant to better understand your situation and any financial implications that come with living overseas.

If you do move overseas, we can pass on your new residential address, phone number and postal address to our broker, who can pass these details on to CHESS and your relevant share registries.

If you are changing your country of citizenship and/or tax residency, those details including the TIN if you wish to disclose one can also be passed on.
