Allow 2 or more target portfolios in one account
UNDER REVIEW
Sometimes there might be a need to have 2 target portfolios with 2 different auto-invest strategies, for example: In one portfolio, I can have certain thematic/satellite ETFs with auto-invest set to rebalance. In the second portfolio, I want to have core diversified (non-free) ETFs with auto-invest set to lowest share to reduce brokerage fees. This would ideally require 2 or more separate auto debit/invest with different cycles of their own that users can set and will provide a lot of flexibility to users in choosing different strategies, all in one account/dashboard plus easy visibility.

Hi team, Has there been any progress on this? From what I can tell this is one of most popular open feature requests and something i've been craving for a long time

Yes please, I need the ability to have multiple portfolios for separate investing and tracking. Any updates on the implementation? It's been a while.

I think this would be great. Fully support the idea. I think that this option would make Pearler even more useful and nicer to use. It makes sense to enable separate portfolios, for example, a 'core', a 'satellite' and maybe even a 'speculative' portfolio.

I am also very keen for this. I plan to have a glide path that (gradually) increases bonds as I near retirement so an auto-invest feature that only uses certain assets in its calculation is critical. And to throw an additional wrinkle at you... could we assign portions of the same asset into different portfolios? An example to illustrate what I mean: let's say you have a portfolio of 70% global shares and 30% Australian shares but want to change the global share ETF to a different one (maybe one with lower fees). Even if you could assign the original global ETF to a manual portfolio, the Aus ETF you have built up would continue to count towards the percentages and your auto-invest would only purchase the new global ETF until it had caught up. When looking at the total portfolios you would have more global shares than desired.

Would love to see something like this. I have a handful of stocks I have in my Pearler brokerage account but don’t want them to influence the target percentage or auto invest strategy of the rest of my portfolio.

Completely agree, I would like to have LICs in a buy the dip strategy. But can't because you can only have 1 stock in the portfolio. Awesome job though guys 👍

Also would like multiple portfolios as may have different goals for each portfolio with different needs to autoinvest. e.g. long term 10 yr. Shorter term 5 yr+ high yield income. Ultra short term (1-3yr) fixed interest Would assist with implementation of a “bucket strategy” as one transitions to retirement. I would still want some autoinvest function so that each portfolio can be balanced to personal goals such as sector alllocation, international vs Aussie, defensive alts etc Would be useful to be able to to combine all portfolios for big picture analytics now and then. However, portfolio managers such as Sharesight and Navexa allow this, so not essential. If more than 2 portfolios required, I’d be willing to pay a small monthly fee to access extra feature.

Hi all/Hayden - first time posting! Love the platform so much :D +1 to this request; individual portfolios available alongside the 'all-inclusive' dashboard... Keen to have a 'set & forget' core portfolio and a satellite one with individual stocks. Setting individual stocks to 1 or 2 percent is the current unaesthetic approach but being able to auto-invest into multiple portfolios would mean I can automate a core & satellite investment, and only need to actively manage the satellite component of my strategy :) Appreciate this community and the way the team engages with it!

I'll just add two cents here. I'd love for our Rask members to have: 1. Core portfolio -- with Auto invest set up, plus tracking of performance of this portfolio over time. 2. Satellite portfolio -- with/without auto invest features but with performance. For example, shares/stocks and/or thematic ETFs often require different timing elements (e.g. 3-5 year holding periods) than Core portfolios (nearly "forever"). So the ability to run a separate portfolio within Pearler and test the results (through performance) would be the Gold standard for our members. Cheers Owen Rask

Yes - would definately like the feature to be implemented. I would want to be able to have my core ETFs set under autoinvest at certain percentages and then some individual stocks which are not included in the current percentage automate process. Either having 2 portfolios or just excluding certain stocks from being included in the automate target process. Is this feature still being looked at?

This would be the best option for Autoinvest simplicity also, If I want to rebalance my Target portfolio currently, I have to sell assets that are not in my target portfolio. I do not want to have to create another brokerage account with pearler ideally, so I will be waiting for a feature like this to come out. I like the Idea of passively autoinvesting in ETFs and being completely hands off with it and then investing actively in a seperate portfolio of stocks. If the option was there to seperate the two that would be perfect.

There is a broker in the US that does a really good job of this if you wanted to have a look at how they seem to do it. Its M1 Finance.

Agree this would be an awesome feature - imagine it would work similarly to the current 'exclude from networth' option but within autoinvest?

Deepak Can you talk to me a bit more about some concrete examples in terms of timing? You mention two auto debits, with different cycles. Why difference cycles? What kind of time frames? And for the thematic ETFs with auto-invest on rebalance, is that rebalance because they're free ETFs you're investing in?

Josh Schwarz To tap into this, are there scenarios where you would autoinvest into multiple satellite portfolios? Do you ahve any examples of that?

Hi everyone, can some people play around with our new tags feature on the dashboard? Tagging assets which allows you to then group them in "portfolios". If anyone can play around with this and let us know what is missing from that it will help form a better understanding of what this feature request means to some people. Thanks!

Yes, can we please have a multiple portfolios option! I hate having my individual shares mixed in with my ETF's. Makes target allocation page messy and annoying and I'd also like to set up different auto invests for seperate portfolios. Definitely would move my individual shares held on Stake over to Pearler if this happens.

Would love this option. I'd like to have my individual shares in a separate portfolio to my ETF's.

It would be great to have this feature so we can keep track of different portfolios separately, instead of all the assets being lumped in one portfolio. Currently I use two different brokers for different portfolios and I track both manually using spreadsheets. Would be great if Pearler is friendlier this way so I can keep my trades within the same platform, especially since brokerage is dropping. Thanks

For those who are voting this up, I'd be curious if you'd consider an interim solution to be just to have two accounts (each with their own HIN) managed by Pearler? And whether yes/no, why?

This would be the best feature and make some of use using Commsec or other platforms to manage individual shares to move them over Pearler as well. Currently using Pearler for index funds with auto-invest and want to keep that as it is. Separately, would be great to setup a new portfolio, transfer the current individual shares from another platform and setup the targets + auto-invest for this 2nd portfolio too.

Agree with this also. I have accumulated some small holdings I will just keep now but it confuses the auto-invest and percentage holdings will change over time (I want to hold but not accumulate). I want to be able to split out or omit holdings from the auto-invest goal so I can have the split of the select few I want.

I agree with Josh, I’d totally love a sort of 2 section portfolio where I can have my core ETF’s with a set weighting percentage that I can easily set up the auto invest, and a second part where I keep my individual stock holdings that I don’t want part of my set and forget ETF strategy. I’d love to then see this set out on the dashboard as the overall portfolio % of both sectors, ie 80% Core strategy, 20% individual etc, to make it easier to check I am on track with the limits I have set for myself. It would be awesome if this was possible. Other than this, I’m loving the platform, easy to use for an investing newbie!
