We can’t comment on the specifics of what happened at Optus, nor how it may have impacted Optus customers. However, we can again confirm that Pearler's platform hasn't been impacted by the Optus breach.
At Pearler, we also make data security best practice a core part of our business. We achieve this by:
Requiring proof of physical ID for many sensitive actions as well as 2FA, advanced biometrics, and email confirmation as appropriate.
Continuously monitoring via both automated systems and human observation for any behaviour that may be fraudulent or otherwise suspicious.
Working with external partners to ensure we retain as little customer data as necessary. In fact, Pearler doesn’t retain copies of any of the KYC documents you use to verify yourself. Similarly, we never sell any of your data to any third party, or share it without your express consent.
For more detailed info on Pearler's security measures, check out our article: How Pearler manages security.
If you’d like to feel as secure as possible (not just on Pearler, but on any platform), you can take the following steps:
- Use complex passwords that combine uppercase and lowercase; letters and numbers; and symbols.
- Changing your passwords regularly.
- Use authenticator apps instead of SMS for two-factor authentication.
We hope this provides clarity around your concerns. If you have any queries, please contact us at any time at hello@pearler.com
