Why is Pearler's VAS unit price different?
Shares and Crypto
Hi, Please I just need clarification. Why is Pearler's VAS Unit price ($0.8) different from VAS ASX unit price ($82)? Regards, Edwin.

Hi Edwin,
Great question!
I believe there may be some confusion with the difference between the Aussie Large Companies Pearler Micro fund and the ASX listed VAS ETF. These options reference the same ETF but there is a slight difference in how you actually invest in them. I’ve summarised below, hope this helps!
When you invest via your own brokerage HIN using Pearler Shares you are owning the listed unit directly. With this you need to own whole units and have certain minimums (e.g. $500).
When you invest in a Pearler Micro fund, you are investing into a managed investment scheme that tracks a particular objective. In the case of our option “Aussie Large Companies”, this tracks the ETF VAS.
The Pearler Micro fund is essentially a wrapper around an existing ETF, and allows you to make unlimited small investments with a low monthly fee. This does however mean that investing into the Micro fund and investing directly into VAS is two different products, and investing in “Aussie Large Companies” does not equate to you holding VAS shares.
This is why the price of the fund is different to the price of the actual ETF, and related performance figures may also vary.
