Stocks included in an EFT
I prefer to invest in ETF's for diversification reasons but when adding another ETF I feel it necessary to observe and compare the stocks held in each also for diversification issues. How can we view the stock held in an ETF?

When considering adding another ETF to your investment portfolio, it’s wise to compare the holdings within each ETF to ensure you are achieving the diversification you desire. Here’s how you can view and compare the stocks held in each ETF:
ETF Provider’s Website: The simplest way to find detailed information about an ETF’s holdings is on the provider’s website. Providers typically list all the holdings of an ETF, often with the percentage of the ETF they represent. This can be found in the ETF’s fact sheet or a dedicated section for holdings.
Financial News Websites: Websites like Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, or Morningstar often provide detailed information about ETFs, including their top holdings and sector allocations. This can be useful for a quick comparison between different ETFs.
Brokerage Platforms: If you use a brokerage platform, it likely offers tools to view the details of ETFs, including their holdings. Some platforms also provide analysis tools that help compare the diversification and risk associated with different ETFs.
ETF Databases: There are several online databases dedicated to ETF information where you can search for and compare ETFs based on their holdings, performance, fees, and other criteria.
When comparing ETFs, consider not just the stocks they hold but also the concentration of those holdings. An ETF that is heavily weighted towards a few stocks might carry higher risk compared to one that is more broadly diversified across many stocks. Additionally, look at the sectors and geographical exposure of the ETFs to ensure they align with your diversification goals.

Hi Deb.
Couple of ways…
— On the Shares page, find/search the fund, then click it. On the next page, scroll down to Top Holdings. Then near that, see the Show More link. This will let you scroll through a long list of the biggest stocks in that fund.
— Go to the fund’s website. From the fund page, find a link that says Documents or Resources. From there you should be able to find an excel spreadsheet of all the holdings. Otherwise, where it says Holdings, there might be a Download/See All link.
Hope that helps.
Dave
