DIVIDENDS AND TAX
VAS ETF franking credits
Hi wondering why I haven't recieved any franking credits added separate with VAS dividends over the last couple of quarterly distributions, I note the Oct 2023 dist stated VAS was 84% franked I have a direct share holding nvestment environment inside super where individual shares I hold pay itemised dividend payments alongside itemised franking credit amounts and FWT tax payments etc for VEU & VTS which obviously have no franking as international ETFs. Appreciated any feedback on the above.

Hey Wayne. Where exactly are you seeing that you «haven’t received» any franking credits?
If it’s inside your super account, it would be best to speak with your super fund as to why that’s the case. Maybe the reporting has changed for some reason.
if it’s outside super, and you’re looking at the Vanguard statements, it could simply be that Vanguard don’t seem to publish the franking credit item on the quarterly dividend statement. Instead, it’s on the full end of year statement for tax.
Hope you find out what’s going on :)
Cheers, Dave
