DIVERSING MY PORTFOLIO

Hello, I have invested in VAS and NDQ. I am wanting to add one more ETF to my portfolio to diversify it a bit more. I was recommended to invest in VEU but it is US domiciled. Any suggestions? I am looking at a 10 year minimum investment. Thank you.

Hi Julia.

I guess you are looking at something which is different to US and Aussie markets, likely why you considered VEU.

There is one alternative to VEU that is similar, which is IVE. It includes Japan, UK + Europe. It’s domiciled in Australia but it doesn’t have as many companies as VEU. For what it’s worth, many ppl just invest in VEU + don’t worry about it being US domiciled (it’s still one of the more popular ETFs on Pearler).

One of the other options is emerging markets, like VGE as an example. But it really all depends what other companies or countries you were hoping to get access to, which only you know the answer to.

Maybe take a look at the ETFs page and do some reading up on any of the funds there that seem interesting: https://pearler.com/explore/invest/au-shares?...

Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks so much. Coincidence that you replied as I am reading your book. Up to page 108 😆

I haven’t made any concrete decisions as yet, but I am thinking of selling VEU and adding QUAL.

What are your thoughts on that in terms of diversifying? I know there is an overlap, but a mix of other companies outside of USA.

Cheers,

Julia.
