I have had an active interest in investing and money management since a young age. I have always lived within my means, and this has allowed me to pay off my home and build a healthy super balance early. I have moved away from active direct share investing to ETF portfolio investing over the past few years. An investment plan can be simple and free of complication. As a former athlete and high achiever, I have been able to transfer my training in discipline and sticking to a plan across to my investment management.

As I have book ended my financial moat by paying off my home and building a healthy super portfolio early my investment goal is based on building additional passive income between now and retirement. This income is in the form of dividends with some capital growth. I have used some debt recycling for the dividend portion of my portfolio however I have taken a conservative approach and my dividends from my Australian portfolio more than cover any tax-deductible interest repayments. The goal of this passive income is to create some freedom from just relying on career income and to allow me to invest in personal and memorable experiences such as travel. I'm far more focused on using investments as a means to live my life's purpose that is in line with my dream rather than for purchasing material possessions.
